Ndede Limited Donates 150 Wellington Boots for 2025 Farmers Day

Accra: The Ndede Limited Company, manufacturers of Tenack boots, on Thursday presented 150 pairs of Wellington boots to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in support of this year's Farmers Day celebration. Mr. Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture, received the donation on behalf of the Ministry and assured that the items would go directly to farmers.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Opoku emphasized that the donation was intended for farmers and not the Ministry itself. He assured a smooth transfer of all 150 pairs to the farmers. He also urged other companies to contribute to the event, highlighting the fundamental role of agriculture in all activities.

The Minister commended Ndede Limited for being the first company to respond to the Ministry's call for corporate support for the 2025 celebration. He encouraged farmers to support local products by patronizing Ghana-made goods. Mr. Opoku provided updates on preparations for the event, revealing that a proposed venue was awaiting the President's confirmation. Once approved, the Ministry plans to launch the program and share full details.

Efforts are underway to compile a list of deserving awardees, with a focus on transparency in selecting winners. Mr. Opoku assured that public disclosure of shortlisted farms would ensure a fair selection process, free from partisanship or discrimination. Reforms are also being introduced to ensure timely delivery of awards, with winners receiving their prizes at the event venue itself.

Farmers Day is celebrated annually to recognize the contributions of farmers and fishers to Ghana's development. Nana Ehoa Acquaye, General Manager of Ndede Limited, expressed the company's commitment to supporting farmers as key stakeholders. She acknowledged their ongoing efforts in feeding the nation and enhancing Ghana's food security.
