CBG Donates Reading Books to Four Schools in Assorku Essaman

Assorku Essaman: The Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) has launched the 'Formative Reading with CBG' project to help students from rural communities read widely as part of an academic empowerment program. The initiative aims to foster a culture of reading among students, enhancing their cognitive abilities and enabling them to contribute more effectively to the social and economic development of their communities.

According to Ghana News Agency, the project was launched by Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, Managing Director of CBG, alongside her Deputy, Madam Sheila Azuntaba, at the Assorku Essaman cluster of schools. These schools include District Assembly JHS, Catholic Basic A and B, and Assorku Model Basic School. More than 700 reading books were distributed to these schools for further distribution to the students.

Dr. Kwetey emphasized the bank's recognition of education as a powerful catalyst for change. She stated that the donation is part of CBG's broader commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, aiming for a future where every child has the opportunity to access knowledge and realize their dreams.

Madam Rita Mame Araba Baidoo, Headmistress of Assorku District Assembly School, expressed her gratitude for CBG's investment in the human resources of the Shama district and Ghana as a whole. However, she noted that the schools in the cluster still lack ICT facilities, which are crucial for modern technology education.
