Bono East Minister Calls for Harmony Between Wangara and Mo Traditional Sects

Kintampo: Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, has called for peaceful co-existence between the Wangara and the Mo Traditional sects in the Kintampo Municipality to foster development. He emphasized that peace and unity are essential for advancing the area’s development.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Antwi made these remarks during a meeting with the leaders of the two traditional sects in Kintampo, as part of his five-day working visit to the region. He highlighted that unity and social cohesion would not only bring joy but also stimulate rapid socioeconomic development, enhancing the lives of the people.

Mr Antwi reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the emerging developmental needs of the people, noting that without peace and unity, it would be challenging for the government to fulfill these objectives. He assured that the community would benefit from national resources and urged traditional authorities to focus on youth development to harness their potential.

The
minister underlined the government’s prioritization of youth development through employable skills training to drive growth. Nana Kwaku Danquah, the Paramount Chief of the Mo Traditional area, expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged to work towards maintaining peace in the region.

Nana Sarichie Fanyinama, the Paramount Chief of the Wangara Community and President of the Council of Wangara Chiefs, also committed to promoting peace in the area. Both chiefs expressed their support for the implementation of government initiatives like the 24-hour economy and the Feed Ghana initiative.

Mr Antwi later engaged with staff from the Kintampo Municipal Assembly, encouraging them to support the implementation of government policies and programs to ensure maximum benefit for the people.
