Accra: Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced plans to establish a Pilgrimage Authority dedicated to facilitating religious pilgrimages for Christians and Muslims. This initiative aims to support Christians traveling to Israel and Muslims journeying to Mecca, allowing them to pray for national peace and seek divine blessings and guidance.According to Ghana News Agency, Vice President Bawumia shared this proposal during his visit to the Believers Worship Centre (Philadelphia Movement) at Pokuase Katapor Estate in Accra on Sunday. During the visit, the church's founder, Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, offered prayers for Bawumia, as he campaigns for the mandate of Ghanaians in the upcoming December 7 elections. In a symbolic gesture, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah covered Bawumia's head with a 'special' white apron during the prayer session.As part of his campaign efforts, the NPP Flagbearer has been actively touring all 276 constituencies across the nation. He has been engaging with the electorate, discussing his administration's policies and programs, and urging them to support him in the December general elections. Bawumia has been emphasizing the significant achievements of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia Government over the past seven and a half years.Among the achievements highlighted by Bawumia are the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy, which has benefited 5.7 million students to date. He also pointed to advancements in digitalizing the economy, improvements in road infrastructure and interchanges, the establishment of 169 factories under the One-District, One Constituency initiative, the deployment of over 300 ambulances across various districts, enhancements in education infrastructure, and the Agenda 111 Hospital projects, along with other social intervention policies.
