Humphrey Kofi Ayittey emerged winner of the Osu-Doku Homowo Cycling Race held at Osu on Sunday, August 18, 2024.He was followed by Frank Akuffo, with Emmanuel Sessi and Francis Amu placing third and fourth place respectively.Ayittey took home of a case price of GHS 5,000.00, gold medal, whilst Akuffo pocketed GHS 3,000.00, silver medal with Sessi taking home GHS 1,000.00 and a bronze medal. Amu took home GHC600 for his efforts.Mr. Justice Awuku, organiser of the event said the successes of the Homowo Cycling event were beyond expectations.He said, 'we wanted to create sports competition for this year's Homowo festival and from the look of things that has been achieved'.He said they would discuss with their sponsors the possibility of organising another competition before the next Homowo festival.He said, 'we are already in discussion with the sponsors with regards to the next competition'.'I believe if the riders channel their energies to such events, it would be of great benefit to them.''I encourage young boys and girls to channel their efforts for something productive for themselves, families and the country as a whole,' he added.Source: Ghana News Agency
