AWEP Hails Historic Achievement of Ghana’s First Female Vice-President

Accra: The African Women's Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) Ghana, has extended its felicitation to Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for emerging as Ghana's first female vice-president.

According to Ghana News Agency, the achievement was a significant milestone towards gender equality and empowerment. A statement signed by Ms Bernice Abbeyquaye, President, AWEP Ghana, highlighted that the Vice-President's achievement was a testament to her leadership and commitment to public service.

"On behalf of AWEP Ghana, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Her Excellency Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on her historic election as the first female Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana," the statement said. It further noted that this groundbreaking achievement was proof that the highest offices were within reach for those who led with integrity and vision.

AWEP expressed confidence that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang's tenure would champion causes important to women from diverse backgrounds. The organization trusts that her leadership will amplify women's voices and address structural barriers that have historically limited their participation in economic development.

AWEP also looked forward to collaborating with the Vice-President to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development for women businesses.
