Kumasi: The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged Zongo and tribal chiefs in the Ashanti Region to provide impartial and selfless leadership within their communities. He emphasized the importance of fairness and truthfulness in their dealings, particularly in resolving disputes, to ensure justice for all individuals who come before them.According to Ghana News Agency, the Asantehene conveyed this message during a courtesy visit by the Council of Zongo Chiefs, led by its President, Naaba Musah Akambonga II, at the Manhyia Palace. The visit was intended to formally introduce several newly installed tribal chiefs to the Asantehene. Among those introduced were Alhaji Abubakar Umar, leader of Walla; Mohammed Lamborn, leader of Bimooba; Alhaji Mohammed Saani, leader of Challah; Naa Abdulai Yakubu Noubi I, leader of Birifor Lobi; Nana Akwasi Issah, leader of Chokosi; Alhaji Mahmud Abdulai, leader of Alijo; and Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, leader of Tamasha/Buzu.The Asantehene stressed the legitimacy of the ch iefs presented to him and cautioned against the appointment of rival chiefs with identical titles. He highlighted the necessity for peaceful coexistence among various groups within the Zongo communities, noting that peace is vital for the development and progress of these areas.Otumfuo Osei Tutu extended his blessings to the newly introduced chiefs, encouraging them to lead with integrity and foster harmony. Naaba Musah Akambonga II also advised the new chiefs to adhere to the traditional protocols of the council and to spearhead development initiatives within their jurisdictions.In response, some of the newly introduced leaders expressed their gratitude to the Asantehene for the warm reception and committed themselves to upholding the traditional customs of the Asante Kingdom.
