AMB Fair Organisers Call for Peace Ahead of December 7 Polls.

Accra: The Chief Executive Officer of Makeup Ghana, Ms Rebecca Donkor, has stressed the need for unity, peace, and collaboration, especially ahead of the upcoming general elections, with a call on industry players to consistently advocate for peace. She emphasized that a peaceful environment is crucial for businesses to thrive, talents to blossom, and creativity to flourish.According to Ghana News Agency, Ms Donkor made this appeal at the opening of the eighth edition of the Africa Makeup and Beauty (AMB) Fair at the Labadi Beach Hotel. The event, titled the Synergy Edition, spanned three days from Friday to Sunday and featured a diverse range of products from over 50 vendors, attracting a large crowd of beauty and wellness enthusiasts.The CEO of Makeup Ghana highlighted the importance of industry players working towards environmental preservation by producing eco-friendly products. Reflecting on the theme 'Sustainable Synergy for Eco-Empowerment in a Changing Climate,' she urged industry stakeholders to not only focus on creativity and innovation that define the beauty and wellness sector but to also embrace the collective responsibility of implementing sustainable practices that protect the environment and ensure the well-being of future generations.She stated, "The idea of synergy, of working together harmoniously, is central to this effort. Through fruitful collaboration, we can harness our strengths and create lasting solutions that benefit both our businesses and the planet." Over the years, the AMB Fair has become a crucial platform for African beauty and wellness brands to connect with global opportunities, elevate their brands, and forge partnerships that drive positive change."The collaboration we see today has not only fueled innovation but has also positioned African brands on the global stage as leaders of sustainable beauty," she added. The event featured workshops, discount sales, live demonstrations, exhibitions, a soiree, as well as a fashion and beauty show, all culminating in the awards ceremony dubbed 'The Synergy Gala.' It provided a platform for industry players to network, share ideas, and collaborate to expand and sustain the AMB Fair.Ms Donkor announced that preparations are underway for the 10th Anniversary of the Fair in two years, which is expected to feature a global touch. The Queen Mother of Akyem Abuakwa, Nana Adwoa Asiaa Benneh (Beyeeman I), in her keynote address, praised the organizers for the event, highlighting its potential to contribute significantly to job creation in Ghana. "This is more than a celebration of beauty but an avenue for industry growth and cultural empowerment," she stated, urging all to commit to environmental preservation and encouraging the youth to seize opportunities within the beauty and wellness space to become entrepreneurs.
