Agona West Assembly Hosts Send-Off for Retired Environmental Health Officer

Agona West: The Agona West Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Management of the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department, organized a send-off party for Mrs. Ernestina Kumah, who has served as an Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer and is now retiring.

According to Ghana News Agency, the event was graced by the Swedruman Council of Chiefs, led by Nana Kweku Esieni V, Regent of the town, as well as Queen Mothers, officers of the Agona West Municipal Assembly, department heads, and the family of the retiree. Nana Esieni, addressing the gathering, expressed gratitude towards Mrs. Kumah for her significant contributions and dedicated service to Agonaman over the years.

The Nifahene highlighted Mrs. Kumah's impactful tenure, noting that her efforts helped the Agona West Municipal Assembly achieve numerous successes in maintaining environmental cleanliness. Under her leadership, the assembly was recognized as the second national best Assembly in sanitation and the cleanest in the Central region.

Nana Esieni expressed hope that the new officer would emulate Mrs. Kumah's example to continue promoting environmental cleanliness in the municipality. In her address, Mrs. Kumah thanked the chiefs, department heads, media, and her management staff for their unwavering support during her service.

She requested forgiveness from colleagues for any transgressions during her tenure and described the recent cholera outbreak in the municipality as 'unfortunate', although efforts from staff and management successfully contained it. She urged the incoming officer to build on her legacy and establish a system to motivate staff and development partners for effective environmental cleanliness.

Mr. Mac Dzodzodzi, the new Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer, committed to working diligently and building a strong management team to maintain Agona West Assembly's status as the cleanest Assembly in the country. He also expressed optimism that the assembly would continue providing the necessary support for effective sanitation management.
