Adom-Otchere Seeks Court Intervention to Nullify Property Declaration Order

Accra: Mr Paul Adom-Otchere, a former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, has initiated a legal challenge at the High Court to overturn a directive from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) that mandates him to declare his property and income.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Adom-Otchere's legal team, headed by Mr Godfred Dame, a former Attorney-General, contends that the directive, which was issued on August 4, 2025, is unlawful and contravenes the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) along with its regulations. The lawyers argue that the directive represents an abuse of power.

Mr Adom-Otchere is seeking a court declaration that the OSP's directive, along with the alleged threats of 'legal consequences', 'confiscation', and 'detention', is unlawful and amounts to harassment. Additionally, he is requesting an order that would prevent the OSP from detaining him if he chooses not to comply with the directive to declare his property and income by the specified deadline.

The investigation by the OSP centers on suspected corruption and related offences linked to the award of a revenue assurance contract by the Ghana Airports Company Limited to Evatex Limited.
