Adaklu DCE Pledges Commitment to Transparency and Innovation in Service Delivery

Adaklu: Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, the Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE), assured residents that his administration is committed to enhancing transparency, accountability, and innovation in service delivery. He encouraged collaboration across political and traditional lines to build a peaceful and prosperous district.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ameko delivered these promises during his sessional address at the second session of the Fourth Adaklu District Assembly in Adaklu Waya. He emphasized diligent efforts to elevate the district's development, announcing the successful assessment by the Volta Regional Coordinating Council for late 2024 and early 2025.

On education, Mr. Ameko acknowledged challenges such as infrastructure deficits, teacher shortages, and high dropout rates but highlighted ongoing interventions. New classroom blocks have been commissioned, and a modern library is being constructed at Adaklu Kodzobi Basic School through partnerships.

In healthcare, a nurse's quarters was completed and handed over to the Adaklu Wumenu Health Centre, facilitated by Mr. Agbodza, the Minister of Roads and Highways. The DCE also emphasized initiatives to strengthen child protection systems and improve sanitation to reduce open defecation.

Mr. Ameko reported emergency road improvements and ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the old Assembly office structure, aiming to introduce the National Service Scheme and Business Advocacy Centre. Additionally, he discussed plans to construct bungalows for district workers and complete the official DCE residence.

To support a 24-hour economy, a 1,500-acre land has been donated for business development, expected to attract investment and boost job creation. Mr. Ameko noted the strategic initiative would enhance productivity and export potential under regional trade agreements.

Addressing security concerns, Mr. Ameko urged collaboration with the community and security services to reduce crime. The resolution of a market incident by local authorities was also noted.
