Ada: Mr Louis Harlley Nutsugah, the Ada District Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has expressed concern over the ongoing interferences in the company's distribution network by unauthorized individuals. These actions, he noted, are leading to faults and outages, damaging fuses and transformers, and ultimately disrupting power supply to consumers.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Nutsugah, during an interaction with the media, warned the public against such activities, highlighting the potential dangers including electrocution and property damage. He mentioned that the ECG has communicated with assembly members and other community leaders to help dissuade people from engaging in these interferences. The district manager emphasized that the company is vigilant and ready to prosecute any individuals caught tampering with the network.Mr Nutsugah urged the public to refrain from hiring electricians or technicians to resolve outage issues, as this responsibility lies solely with the ECG. He ac knowledged that while the ECG is committed to timely fault repairs, logistical challenges such as distance and concurrent repair tasks may occasionally delay their response.Additionally, Mr Nutsugah appealed to customers to pay their electricity bills promptly to avoid accumulating debts that could become difficult to settle. Mr Alfred Owusu, the Ada ECG District Engineer, added that some individuals have been replacing fuses themselves, leading to further damage to transformers due to incorrect fusing. He warned that such continued interference could result in prolonged power outages and increased costs for the company to repair the equipment.
