2005 Year Group of Keta Business College Marks 20 Years with Silver Jubilee Project Launch

Keta: The 2005 Year group of Keta Business College, located in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, has commemorated their 20th anniversary by launching a silver jubilee project. The initiative reflects on the group's time at the college and outlines their future aspirations for the institution.

According to Ghana News Agency, the project aims to provide significant benefits to the college by enhancing the learning and teaching standards. During the ceremony, Mr. Wise Kportufe, the National President of Ketabusco old students, delivered a speech that took the audience through a nostalgic journey of the group's experiences at the college, noting challenges such as inadequate infrastructure and strict disciplinary measures from masters and seniors.

Mr. Kportufe highlighted the theme of the celebration, 'Remembering the past, embracing the future,' emphasizing a reflective and forward-looking approach. He elaborated on the group's silver jubilee project to construct an ultra-modern business hub for the college, envisioned as a revenue source for the school and a printing hub for nearby schools and communities. The project is estimated to cost GH? 500,000, with the group aiming to raise the funds by 2029 to commence construction.

He encouraged current students to utilize their time wisely, focus on academics, and seek mentorship from past students, stressing the importance of making choices that align with their personal goals and ambitions.

The 2005 Year group has made significant contributions over the years, including the donation of dining hall tables and benches, and engaging in reunions and outreach programs for the school's development. Mr. Kportufe affirmed the group's ongoing commitment to supporting the college and its students, with the business hub project being a testament to their dedication to making a positive impact.

Mr. Frank Lawoe, the immediate past president of the group, also expressed optimism about the future, encouraging students to pursue their studies diligently and seek mentorship to achieve personal and community impact.

Madam Matilda Dzotefe, Headmistress of Keta Business College, expressed gratitude towards the 2005 Year group and other alumni for their contributions, highlighting the role of success and achievement in inspiring others. She called on other alumni to follow their example and contribute to the college's advancement.

GNA reported that the group also organized a health walk, donated cadet uniforms and related items to the school, and awarded citations to outstanding old students.
