Asante Abuakwa: A 20-year-old labourer has been remanded into prison custody by the Asante Abuakwa circuit court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of Ashanti, for unlawful entry and stealing at Kobeng near Nkawie. Ishmael Ayangah pleaded not guilty and will reappear before the court, presided over by Mrs. Philomina Asiedu, on December 3 of this year.According to Ghana News Agency, Police Detective Inspector Ntim Boadu, the prosecutor, informed the court that Ayangah was an employee of the complainant's company at Kobeng. On November 15, at approximately 1930 hours, the complainant returned home from work to find his room had been ransacked. It was discovered that GHc 5,250.00 in cash, two mobile phones valued at GHc 2,800, and personal belongings worth GHc 1,450 were stolen, totaling GHc 9,500.The prosecution further explained that the complainant conducted his own investigation and was informed by a co-tenant that Ayangah and his friend, Latif, who is currently at large, were seen returning from the complainant's room that day. A report was subsequently made to the Nkawie police, leading to Ayangah's arrest.Inspector Ntim noted that Ayangah admitted to the charges in his caution statement. Following the investigation, Ayangah was charged and brought before the court.
