Winneba: Ven. Fr. Aaron Moses Ato Kwamena Eduah, Archdeacon of Winneba Anglican Archdeaconry of the Diocese of Cape Coast, has called on Ghanaians to reflect on the recent passing of eight government officials in a helicopter crash. He emphasized the need for the nation to realign their lives with a divine purpose.
According to Ghana News Agency, Ven. Fr. Eduah highlighted the temporary nature of earthly offices, as stated in scripture, and urged the nation to perform their duties with reverence and for the benefit of humanity. He extended condolences to the Government of Ghana through a message titled "Blessed Are Those Who Mourn: A Call to Hope, Honour and Heavenly Perspective," referencing Matthew 5:4.
In his message, Ven. Fr. Eduah noted that the nation grieves not only as a collective but as a spiritual entity. He encouraged national leaders, including the Presidency, Parliament, and Judiciary, to renew their moral commitments and reflect on missed opportunities to uphold their ethical duties.
He also posed reflective questions about building enduring legacies, ruling with integrity, and using power responsibly, urging the nation to consider whether its actions resonate with eternal values. He quoted Hebrews 9:27 to remind everyone that life continues beyond death, advocating for finding comfort in the promise of resurrection as stated in Revelation 14:13.
Ven. Fr. Eduah encouraged those mourning without hope to seek solace in Christ, who transforms grief into purpose. He urged governance to be led by truth, mercy, and justice, and called for a national movement from ambition to mission, inspired by the memory of the fallen leaders.
He concluded by invoking a blessing for Ghana to rise from grief with strengthened moral clarity, guided by the legacy of the departed, and for the nation to find renewal in service, truth, and godliness. He prayed for comfort for the families of the deceased and for the nation to learn wisdom in numbering its days, so as to remain faithful before God.
