WASSCE Candidates in Keta Satisfied with English Oral Examination

Keta: Some candidates writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region have expressed excitement and satisfaction with the just-ended English Oral paper, the first core subject.

According to Ghana News Agency, the WASSCE, which commenced on August 5 with practicals, saw over 3,000 candidates sitting for the English Oral examination across various centres in the municipality. Master Seth Seshie, a final-year Visual Arts student of Keta Business College, mentioned that the paper was smooth and well-conducted, praising invigilators and supervisors for creating a conducive environment. He expressed confidence in his performance, adding that teachers' guidance and students' dedication had adequately prepared them.

Miss Abigail Quansah, a student of Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO), described the questions as clear and fair, commending her teachers for their support and encouragement. She noted that other subjects written so far have also been good, and due to extensive practice with past questions, they are confident the results will be positive.

Several other candidates also lauded their schools and teachers for providing the necessary support and resources to ensure effective preparation. GNA observed a generally positive atmosphere at examination centres, with students relieved after the paper and hopeful for good results.

Mr Ferdinand Amuzu, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Keta, confirmed that more than 3,000 candidates from seven Senior High Schools were sitting for the WASSCE in six centres - Atiasec, Ketabusco, Anyasco, Ketasco, Afiasec and Aborsco. He said no cases of malpractice had been reported as of August 20, attributing this to strict supervision and the presence of security personnel at all centres. He commended invigilators, supervisors, security officers and candidates for their professionalism and urged them to maintain the same discipline until the exams end on September 19.

The next core paper, Social Studies 1 and 2, is scheduled for Monday, August 25, from 0830 to 1330 hours.
