Wangarakrom Youth Association Executives Tasked to Serve as Role Models

Wangarakrom: Mr. Benjamin Teye Aborbi, the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Director of National Youth Authority (NYA), has tasked the Wangarakrom Youth Association to serve as role models for others. He emphasized that their actions would help build confidence among the youth in Wangarakrom and motivate them to strive for excellence, during the inauguration of the Wangarakrom Youth Association and the swearing-in of the executives who will manage the group for a year.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Aborbi advised the leadership to adhere strictly to their objectives and avoid engaging in politics. He warned against undermining traditional leaders and prioritizing self-interest over community norms, urging the association to maintain peace, unity, and focus on development. He commended the association's upcoming program addressing teenage pregnancy and drug abuse as a positive initiative aligned with government expectations.

Mr. Aborbi advised the new executives not to use their positions to intimidate members but to seek input from the youth and incorporate their views to drive community progress. He appealed for prompt payment of dues and approved fees to support the association's operations and expressed gratitude to traditional leaders for their support, urging continued nurturing of the youth to become responsible future leaders.

Mr. Benard Obbin, Assembly Member of Teberebie Electoral Area, expressed appreciation to the Municipal Youth Director for his support in establishing the group. He encouraged members to embrace programs initiated by their executives, highlighting that skills training would empower them to become self-employed and economically independent.

Mr. Isaac Mensah, General Secretary of the association, assured the community of their commitment to collaborating with traditional leaders, the Assembly Member, and unit committees to advocate for more developmental projects. He announced incentives for Junior High School students achieving good results in the Basic Education Certificate Examination and reaffirmed their dedication to maintaining the community's sanitation standards, recalling Wangarakrom's recognition as one of the cleanest communities by Gold Fields Ghana Foundation.
