Volta Regional Lands Commission Launched with Emphasis on Professionalism and Transparency

The inauguration was led by Justice John Ekow Mensah, the Supervising High Court Judge for the Volta and Oti Regions, who urged the seven-member Commission to protect both public and government lands. The Commission is tasked with responsibilities outlined under the Lands Commission Act, 2008 (Act 767), including managing public lands and facilitating land title registrations.

Mr. Divine Fiakpui-Dzahini, Chairman of the newly inaugurated Commission, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Volta Regional Minister for their trust. He emphasized the board's commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism, stating their readiness to tackle challenges and deliver results. Key priorities include conducting a comprehensive land audit, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and reforming the land tender system.

The Commission comprises experienced professionals such as Mr. Mark Enamevo Gudu, Ms. Helen Adjavon, Mr. Shadrack Yao Deafeamekpor, Mr. Emmanuel Osae, Mr. Emile Atsu Agbakpe, and Mr. Benjamin Mensah. The inauguration was attended by stakeholders from various sectors, including traditional authorities and civil society organizations.
