Sunyani: Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), has urged graduates to network and remain innovative to acquire gainful employment. He emphasized the importance of strategy, planning, and networking in today's competitive job market, noting that traditional roles are fading and new ones are emerging.According to Ghana News Agency, Prof Asare-Bediako made these remarks at the Second Edition of the UENR Alumni Job and Career Fair. The event, themed 'Igniting Potential: Unlocking Success through Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Networking', aimed to prepare students and graduates for the evolving job market. He highlighted the complex transition from academia to employment, describing it as a challenging journey that requires skill development and entrepreneurship.Prof Asare-Bediako addressed the issue of graduate unemployment, emphasizing that success now requires strategic networking and skill development. He reiterated the univer sity's commitment to producing graduates with visionary, ethical, and resilient skills, and stressed that entrepreneurship is now a necessity.Miss Janat Issifu, the Chairperson of the UENR Global Alumni, stated that the fair aligns with the alumni's vision to empower students and graduates. She announced that the alumni's website is being revamped to offer career development resources, including job listings and a mentorship platform. Additionally, the 'Alumni Connect Series', a monthly virtual engagement, has been launched to provide exposure to both local and international career opportunities.Mr James Clarke Hayford, the Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations Officer of the University, advised students to be proactive and confident in their personal development. He encouraged them to believe in their potential, regardless of their background or institutions.
