Unauthorised Easter Celebration Flyer Sparks Confusion in Anloga-Avume

Anloga: Mr Kad Fluck Daniel Agboka, the Assembly Member of Avume Electoral Area in the Anloga District of the Volta region, has issued a public notice to disregard an unauthorized '2025 Anloga-Avume Home Coming Easter celebration' flyer circulating on social media.

According to Ghana News Agency, the flyer, allegedly organized by the Anloga-Avume Development Youth Association, is considered disrespectful and an attempt to create confusion in the area, including Avume and Anloga. Mr Agboka emphasized that the public should ignore any flyer for Easter festivities in the area, as the event has not been approved by relevant authorities, and the Anloga-Avume Development Youth Association is not aware of any such planned activities.

Mr Agboka stated, "There is no such Easter programme in and around Anloga-Avume Electoral Area that I am aware of, and the unknown group behind the flyer has no authority to organize such an event. Their actions will be met with consequences." He apologized to Togbi Zewu IV, Dufia of Anloga, and other respected leaders for any offense caused by the unauthorized flyer and assured the public that the matter would be reported to the police, with those responsible facing arrest and prosecution.

The notice serves as a warning to the youth of the Anloga-Avume electoral area against engaging in activities that could damage the community's reputation. Mr Agboka highlighted the importance of respecting community values and leaders, noting that no organizing committee from previous activities is aware of the current unauthorized plans.

He stressed the necessity of respecting order and proper channels for event organization to maintain peace and order. Anloga District Police Command and other stakeholders have been informed, and actions will be taken to address the situation. The public is assured that those responsible for the unauthorized flyer and event will face legal consequences.

Mr Agboka added that the notice demonstrates a commitment to maintaining peace, order, and discipline within the Avume Electoral Area. The public is urged to ensure community activities respect the values and traditions of the area. The unauthorized Easter festival activities were reportedly set to begin on Saturday, April 19, with a clean-up exercise and a floating event. Additional activities included games, street jams, and a community talk, which Mr Agboka urged the public to disregard.

He appealed for calmness, vigilance, and the reporting of suspicious activities to authorities to maintain a safe and prosperous environment for all. Efforts by the GNA to contact the organizers of the '2025 Anloga-Avume Home Coming Easter festival' have been unsuccessful.
