Sunyani: The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has unveiled the 'Ask Until You Know' (ALMOOL) application, an Artificial Intelligence-driven interactive learning platform aimed at enhancing the study of mathematics at the tertiary education level. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with TeamKairos, a South Korea-based educational technology firm, and is spearheaded by Ms JiEun Janet Song, the founder of TeamKairos.According to Ghana News Agency, the ALMOOL platform offers step-by-step problem-solving guidance, encourages deeper comprehension, and adapts to the individual learning needs of students. Ms Song, in an interview in Sunyani, highlighted that the application is designed to operate with minimal infrastructure, making it a scalable solution for universities across Africa. The project, led by UCC's Department of Mathematics and Science Education, integrates a digital assistant that provides undergraduate students with real-time, contextualized feedback in core mathematics courses.Ms Son g, who possesses expertise in learner-centered pedagogy and AI systems, emphasized that the platform bridges advanced technology with culturally responsive education. She stated, "ALMOOL is not just about advanced AI, but also about creating a tool that listens to learners and adapts to their needs." The educational content for the project was co-developed by Ms Mina Song, a strategic planner at TeamKairos. The platform is aligned with Ghana's academic context, setting a precedent for scalable AI integration in African higher education. Ms Song shared the vision to make advanced, student-centered learning tools both accessible and impactful.Dr Isaac Benning, the UCC local Pilot Lead, mentioned in another interview that the platform is currently being tested in four mathematics courses: CME111 Applied Algebra and Calculus, EMA202 Advanced Algebra and Calculus, EMA310 Vectors and Mechanics, and MAT405 Ordinary Differential Equations. He noted that "ALMOOL allows students to practice mathematical concepts and refine their problem-solving skills through immediate feedback."
