Twyford Ghana Ceramics Donates GHC 200,000 to Support Fund for Helicopter Crash Victims’ Children

Accra: Twyford (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited has made a significant contribution by donating GHC 200,000 to the Special Support Fund dedicated to the children of those who perished in the helicopter crash on August 6. The donation ceremony was held at the Jubilee House in Accra.

According to Ghana News Agency, the fund is designed to address the education, healthcare, and welfare needs of the children who lost their parents in the tragic incident. Mr. Li Wei, Managing Director of Twyford, conveyed condolences to the government and the bereaved families, emphasizing the company's solidarity with Ghana during this period.

The donation forms part of Twyford's ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts, contributing over GHC 3 million to various communities, schools, and government bodies in the past. Additionally, Twyford anticipates paying GHC 600 million in taxes to the Ghanaian government by the end of the year.

Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, a Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, accepted the cheque on behalf of the government, expressing gratitude for the company's generosity. She encouraged Twyford to leverage the government's 24-Hour Economy Policy to enhance production and generate more employment opportunities.

Established on January 22, 2016, Twyford (Ghana) Ceramics operates with a total investment of $323 million on a 400-acre site, providing over 4,500 jobs across various sectors. The company has also facilitated over 10,000 indirect jobs through its extensive supply chains and distribution networks. With approximately 95 percent of its workforce being Ghanaians, Twyford underscores its commitment to local employment and remains a leader in Ghana's manufacturing and export industries.
