Sekondi: The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has unveiled the Twin-City Connect project, a web-based platform designed to provide clients with seamless connectivity and services with just a click of a button.According to Ghana News Agency, the platform includes features such as service requests and payments, access to information, a data dashboard, and a citizen feedback interface. Mr. Isaac Aidoo, Manager of the Twin-Cities in Sustainable Partnership Project (TCSPP), which sponsors the platform, highlighted that over the past three years, the project has established demonstration farms, skills training centers, and youth-friendly centers to enhance the lives of city residents. He emphasized that the new platform would facilitate better relations between stakeholders.Mr. Aziz Mahmoud, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of the project, noted that the application was developed through consultative engagements with key stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery by the Assembly. Mr. Abdul-Mum in Issah, the Chief Executive of the Assembly, who launched the app, stated that the web-based application marks a significant step toward innovation, efficiency, and increased citizen engagement in the local governance of Sekondi-Takoradi."In a world driven by technology, cities must adapt to meet the changing needs of their people. This platform is our response to the call to improve the link between our administration and the residents of Sekondi-Takoradi, making services accessible, transparent, and seamless," he said.The Twin-City Connect platform simplifies previously time-consuming processes, offering opportunities to apply for permits, pay rates, and seek information without the need for physical visits to Metro assembly offices. The MCE expressed gratitude towards the EU, partners of the Twin-Cities in Sustainable Partnership Project, stakeholders involved in the co-design process, the project consultant, STMA staff, and the project team for their collective efforts in realizing this vision.Mr. Innocent Haligah, the City Manager, emphasized the responsibility of department heads to ensure prompt responses to clients, urging them to take ownership of the platform and use it effectively to enhance the Assembly's operations.
