Twifo Attorkrom Residents Demand Urgent Road Repairs Amid Safety Concerns

Twifo attorkrom: Residents of Twifo Attorkrom in the Twifo-Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region have voiced significant frustration over the poor state of their road, which they have termed a 'death trap.'

According to Ghana News Agency, the hazardous condition of the road poses a threat to lives, particularly for pregnant women who need to be transported to the hospital during labor. The community has reported tragic incidents, with some women losing their lives due to the inadequate road network.

The residents have made an appeal to their Member of Parliament, Mr. David Vondee, and the District Chief Executive, Mr. Isaac Yawson, urging them to address their concerns and repair the road. Despite assurances made during the 2024 campaign period, the residents claim that no action has been taken, leaving them feeling deceived and neglected.

The deteriorating road condition has also affected students, who find it impossible to reach school during rainy weather, thus being cut off from education and essential services. The residents are calling for immediate intervention, expressing their impatience after consistently voting for change without seeing any development.

Nana Thomas Klomegah, the chief of Twifo Attorkrom, has also expressed his dissatisfaction with what he perceives as the government's disregard for the community's needs. He questioned their standing as Ghanaian citizens deserving of basic infrastructure such as good roads. Despite his continuous efforts to engage with authorities, he reported no substantial response or progress.

The community remains hopeful for change but is increasingly desperate for tangible action to address their infrastructure challenges.
