Tuy: Youth Day celebrated in Houndé

The Provincial Directorate of Youth, Vocational Training and Employment of Tuy, in collaboration with youth organizations in the province, celebrated from August 12 to 14, 2024, the Day Youth International (JIJ) in Houndé.For 72 hours, young people from the Tuy province organized several activities around the theme: 'Youth, citizen monitoring and the fight against insecurity in Burkina Faso', to celebrate the 2024 edition of International Youth Day (IYD). ).This involves a conference on the theme of the day, communication on addictive behavior, a sanitation operation, an aerobics session, and awareness of road safety and regulating traffic at Houndé crossroads.The President of the special municipal delegation (PDS) of Houndé, Souleymane Dianda, representing the High Commissioner of Tuy, patron of this day, proceeded to the official launch of the commemorative activities.According to the PDS of Houndé, this day marks the political will of the authorities to take into account the concerns of young peop le and make them essential players in the socio-economic development of the country.He indicated that young people, who represent more than 77% of the population of Burkina, are the future of the Nation.'Your energy, your dynamism and your will to act are invaluable resources for our country,' he said.Mr. Dianda welcomed the mobilization of youth in the fight against insecurity and urged them to promote the values ??of peace and living together.The sponsor of the said day, El Hadj Salam Ouédraogo, also president of the Organization of Road Transporters of Faso (OTRAF) Houndé section, called on young people to cultivate understanding to meet the challenges.The president of the Tuy provincial youth council, N'Kini Sangara, invited young people to take an active part in the various activities.The Provincial Director in charge of youth in Tuy, Zoumana Traoré, thanked all the people who worked to make this celebration possible.He also hoped that this day would be celebrated continuously in the provin ce of Tuy.The sanitation operation which took place in the courtyard of the Medical Center with surgical branch (CMA) of Houndé was marked by the delivery of health kits to the district for the care of patients.Source : Burkina Information Agency
