Tourism Ministry Refutes Allegations Against Sector Minister

Accra: The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has refuted allegations by a social media personality that the sector minister, Madam Ablah Dzifa Gomashie, is disrespectful and unprofessional. The Ministry described the claims as false, misleading, and a calculated attempt to tarnish her reputation and that of the Ministry.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Ministry's statement asserted that the allegations were 'entirely baseless and a mischaracterisation of her longstanding service and commitment to the development of Ghana's cultural and creative sectors.' It highlighted the Minister's consistent demonstration of humility, dedication, and service in promoting Ghana's cultural heritage. The statement emphasized that her engagements with stakeholders, industry players, and the public are rooted in mutual respect, openness, and professionalism.

The Ministry expressed concern over a growing trend of online sensationalism, urging the public to remain vigilant and avoid individuals and content creators who prioritize attention-seeking over truth and public interest. It described the attempt to damage the Minister's image as not only undermining her integrity but also disrespecting the hard work of the Ministry's staff and all who serve in Ghana's creative arts sector with pride.

The Directors of the Ministry demanded an unqualified apology from the individual behind the claims, stressing the importance of accountability and truth in public discourse. They affirmed their commitment to transparency and constructive dialogue while rejecting falsehoods aimed at division and distraction.

The Ministry called on Ghanaians to reject misinformation and continue supporting its mission to preserve, celebrate, and elevate Ghana's tourism, culture, and creative arts.
