Accra: The 2024 edition of the Luckiest seasonal draw, organized by GeniusLoci Limited and regulated by the National Lottery Authority (NLA), concluded with ticket number '12870' securing the ultimate prize of GHC One million. The draw, which has become a highly anticipated event, saw significant participation this year with participants eager to try their luck.According to Ghana News Agency, the draw featured various categories, including the Community category, where the Filling Stations, Trotro, Prisons, and Jewelers communities emerged victorious. The Bonus tickets category saw three randomly selected tickets winning 100 times their staked amount. Additionally, some participants went home with exciting prizes like a chest freezer, microwave oven, and a 40-inch television set.Mr. Dennis Adutwum, Managing Director of GeniusLoci Limited, elaborated on the Community category, which involved 100 communities classified into groups such as artisanal, fisherfolks, police, journalists, kayayei, golfers, and CE Os. These groups participated by purchasing tickets ranging from One Ghana cedi to GHC5,000, with each community receiving 1,000 tickets to join the draw.Mr. Adutwum highlighted that the lottery is an annual event running from July to December, with winners typically announced on the last Saturday before Christmas. However, this year's draw was moved to November 30 due to the upcoming December 07 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. He noted the lottery's increasing popularity, with over 300,000 entries this year, a significant rise from last year's 100,000 entries, attributing this growth to enhanced community engagement and promotional activities.Expressing gratitude, Mr. Adutwum thanked the NLA for its support and guidance through the Caritas Platform, which has been instrumental in the lottery's success. Mr. Bernard Buamah, Head of Marketing and Caritas of the NLA, confirmed the lottery's approval by the NLA and its alignment with the Caritas Platform's mission of promoting social and community d evelopment.Mr. Buamah assured continued support from the NLA, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the lottery's success and longevity. "We thank you for partnering with NLA. And we pray that you will continue to impact society through some of these good causes," he remarked, signaling a promising future for the event.
