Hohoe: Apostle Yao Semenya Dogbe, the Hohoe Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has officially commissioned the new Asato Assembly Temple in the Kadjebi District. The temple project, which began in 2009, was completed at a cost of GHS191,545.00. During the commissioning ceremony, Apostle Dogbe prayed for divine blessings upon the congregation, asking God to 'open the doors of ancient times for the good and benefit of Christians.' Speaking on the theme 'Serving Your Generation Faithfully', he urged believers to worship God wholeheartedly and live according to His will.
According to Ghana News Agency, Reverend Samuel Ohene Abeka, the Kadjebi District Pastor of the Church, encouraged the congregation to always listen to God and obey His commandments. He praised those who supported the chapel's construction and prayed for God to replenish their resources. Pastor Linus Yeboah, the Jasikan Zonal Chairman of the Church, who gave a brief history of the Asato Assembly, recounted that the assembly was established in 1949 by Overseer Hayford Wilson. Worship initially took place in the house of the late Papa Kwaku Obeng, with Elder Joseph K. Agbey serving as the first Presiding Elder.
The congregation moved between homes for fellowship until 2006, when they acquired land for a permanent chapel. Pastor Yeboah said construction began in 2009, and by the grace of God, the building was completed and commissioned on Sunday, September 14, 2025. He expressed gratitude to all individuals and philanthropists who contributed towards the project.
