Tema Central Parliamentary candidate hosts aged constituents

Mr Charles Forson, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tema Central Constituency, has fated the aged in the constituency to a fun-filled get-together.The get-together saw the aged numbering about 1500 drawn from all the 11 electoral areas in the constituency gathering at the Tema Community Nine Aged Daycare Centre, where they feasted and were treated to music and other entertainment activities while they interacted with party dignitaries.The event was graced by Mr Kofi Brako, the former Tema Central Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Carlos Ahenkorah, Tema West MP, and Mr Kennedy Agyapong, Assin Central MP.Mr Forson reiterated his commitment to continue the Aged Day Celebration begun by his predecessor, Mr Kofi Brako, pledging to set up a mature medical healthcare system for the elderly in the constituency.He explained that the event forms part of his commitment to the well-being of the constituents, particularly the elderly, who had contributed significantly to the development of the communities, constituency, and nation at large.The parliamentary candidate mentioned that it was therefore for them to support the aged in all spheres, saying that when given the nod, he would prioritise the needs of the aged.He mentioned that he held a similar gathering in all electoral areas for the widows, during which he interacted with them to know their plight and also donated some items to them to support their welfare.Mr. Kennedy Agyapong?appealed to the aged and the electorate of the constituency to consider the numerous social interventions introduced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP)?government to vote for the party in the upcoming general elections.He promised to support the next NPP Administration to increase job and skills training for the youth and unemployed in the country.Source: Ghana News Agency
