Sunyani East MP Inaugurates Newly Constructed Abesim Community Market.

Sunyani: Mr Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani East Constituency in the Bono Region, has inaugurated the newly constructed Abesim Community Market. He expressed confidence that this development would encourage the electorate to retain him as their MP and support Alhaji Dr Bawumia for the presidency to ensure ongoing projects in the town are completed, contributing to significant improvements in residents' lives.According to Ghana News Agency, the market, constructed by the Sunyani Municipal Assembly, features 13 stores and 18 additional sheds designated for sellers of vegetables, foodstuffs, dry fish, and meat. The facility also includes washrooms and an office, aiming to provide a convenient trading environment for local merchants. During the inauguration ceremony in Abesim, near Sunyani, Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh expressed hope that the market would not only facilitate business transactions but also drive rapid socio-economic growth and development in the area.Mr Ameyaw- Cheremeh announced plans to establish a committee composed of representatives from the MP's office, the Assembly, and the Abesim Divisional Area. This committee will manage the allocation of market stores to deserving traders, and he urged market women to remain calm during the process. He also highlighted ongoing construction projects, including a 3,200-seat durbar grounds at the Abesim Presbyterian Primary and Junior High School Park and a standard artificial pitch at the Roman Catholic Primary and JHS Park, both nearing completion.The MP acknowledged the loyalty shown by the people to the NPP since 1992, noting that Abesim is one of the party's strongholds in the constituency. He assured that the town would continue to benefit equally from development projects. Mr John Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, praised the roles of the MP and Alhaji Dr Bawumia in the town's progressive development and urged voters to support them in the upcoming elections on December 7.Barima Kumi Acheaw III, th e Chief of Abesim, expressed gratitude for the development initiatives and appealed to the MP for assistance in upgrading the local health center. He emphasized that the area's population growth has increased pressure on the health facility and called on the government to consider elevating it to polyclinic status.
