Kete-Krachi: Students of Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region have been seen flocking to the Kete-Krachi lorry station, seeking transportation to their respective schools. The Ghana Education Service (GES) had announced January 3, 2025, as the reopening date for SHSs nationwide. However, several students in and around the Krachi West Municipality are now making their way to school due to financial challenges.According to Ghana News Agency, a first-year student from Borae, who attends Hohoe EP Senior High School (HEPSS), explained that financial difficulties caused her delay. She mentioned that the money needed to buy the items on the prospectus is substantial, and her parents, being farmers, had to work diligently to raise the necessary funds.Another student from Worawora Senior High School expressed gratitude despite the delay, stating that they were thankful to finally be going to school, acknowledging that the tardiness was beyond their control. As of now, more t han 30 students were spotted at the lorry station, all eager to begin their academic journey despite the late start.
