Accra: St. Peter Methodist Church, Mile 7, has been declared the winner of the New Achimota Circuit Easter games for the second year in a row, triumphing over eight other societies.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Society’s strong performance was evident across multiple sporting disciplines, including Football, Table Tennis, and Tug of Peace, among others, highlighting their proficiency and teamwork. The champions demonstrated competitive spirit and sportsmanship, which was reflected in their performances.
The Easter Games, organized by the New Achimota circuit, were held on Monday, April 21, 2025, at St. John’s Grammar Senior High School in Accra. This annual event is an important occasion celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ while promoting unity among societies within the circuit.
The event serves as a platform for members of different societies to gather, showcase their talents, and strengthen their relationships. Mr. Ebow Nyamekye Allen-Koufie, Society Steward at St. Peter Methodist Church, praised the members for their support and participation in the various disciplines.
Mr. Allen-Koufie emphasized that Easter is a time to reflect on the love of Christ and urged Christians to show compassion and love to one another, as directed by the Lord.
