St James Old Boys Association Organizes Requiem Mass for Late Squadron Leader Anala

Accra: Dr Adu Appiah-Kubi, the Global President of the St. James Old Boys Association (JOBA), announced that the association has finalized preparations to conduct a 'Requiem' mass in honor of the late Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, who was one of the victims of a recent military helicopter crash. The mass is scheduled to take place at the St James Seminary Chapel on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 1830 hours.

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Appiah-Kubi mentioned that Squadron Leader Anala was part of the 2007 Year Group of the St. James Seminary and Senior High School in the Bono Region. He was among the eight individuals who lost their lives in the helicopter crash that occurred in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Among the victims were also Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister for Defense, and Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.

Dr Appiah-Kubi conveyed the association's condolences to the families of Anala and the other victims, while encouraging members of the association and former students to participate in the mass service. He also called upon the public to provide financial support for the mass service and associated activities to honor the deceased.
