Upper East Region: Special Voting in Ghana's Presidential and Parliamentary elections has started across all 15 constituencies in the Upper East Region. A total of 7,080 voters are taking part in this exercise across the region.According to Ghana News Agency, at the Bongo constituency, voting has started smoothly without any challenges. Mr Charles Bawadua of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Madam Diana Aduko Aburiya of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are contesting the seat. While a total of 603 voters are expected to vote, 80 had already turned up to vote as at 0840 hours when the Ghana News Agency visited the voting center. Mr Martin Asanyuure, Presiding Officer for the Bongo Special Voting Centre, reported that no issues had been recorded so far. The GNA observed a smooth exercise without issues and without long queues.Similarly, at the Nangodi Special Voting Centre in the Nabdam constituency where 108 are expected to cast their votes, only two had cast their votes as at 0730 hours. Incumbent M ember of Parliament, Dr Mark Kurt Nawaane of the NDC is seeking re-election against Mr Charles Taleo Ndanbon of the NPP, a businessman.
