Kpando: Management and staff of the Sovie Vocational Technical Institute (SOVTECH) have honored the Kpando Constituency Member of Parliament and 16 other distinguished individuals for their support towards teaching and learning. The individuals were also recognized for their commitment to education and shaping the future of students.
According to Ghana News Agency, Reverend Fr Jeremiah Ankutsitsia, Principal of the Institute, expressed gratitude to the individuals for their tireless efforts to support SOVTECH's mission and vision. He mentioned that the support continues to have a lasting impact on the Institute and helps to promote academic excellence.
The honorees include Mr. Sebastian Deh, Kpando Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Proper Douglas Bani, National Security Advisor to the President, Captain (Rtd) George Nfodjo, Ghana Ambassador to the Republic of Togo, Mr. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Emmanuel Bedzra, Ho West MP, Mr. Peter Kwasi Nortsu-Kotoe, MP for Akatsi-North, Mr. Killian Donkor, Kpando Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Ernest Adevor, North Dayi District Chief Executive (DCE), and Madam Joycelyn Quashie, Vice Chairperson, Public Procurement Authority Board.
The rest are Dr. Eric Adzoe, Director General GTVETS, Madam Afi Agbenyo, Deputy Director General of Operations, GTVETS, Mr. Abdul Fatah M. Mahama, Deputy Director of Management Services, GTVETS, Madam Alice Dorley, Director of Human Resources, GTVETS, Madam Stella Ntow, Director of Finance, GTVETS, Engineer Christian Agordah, Regional Director of GTVETS, Dr. Justice Srem Sei, Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, and Professor Smile Gavua Dzisi, Acting Deputy Director, General Management Service of GES.
Mr. Deh assured that he would work tirelessly to ensure the completion of the ongoing projects and award new ones. In a speech read on his behalf, Mr. Gunu expressed appreciation for the honor and assured that the government would provide all necessary support to SOVTECH. He said the government would attend to the needs of the school to elevate it to one of the best technical schools in the region.
Mr. Nfojo, who is also the Board Chairman for SOVTECH, underscored the significance of technical education in the country's development. He highlighted the crucial role technical education played in equipping individuals with skills that could drive economic growth and innovation. Mr. Nfojo emphasized that technical education was a commitment to promoting skills development and empowering the youth.
