Dormaa central: Mr. Dominic Adomah Ameyaw, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive in the Bono Region, has announced the formation of a taskforce dedicated to enforcing sanitation by-laws. He issued a stern warning to residents against littering and indiscriminate waste disposal, emphasizing that offenders will face prosecution irrespective of their social or political connections.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ameyaw made these remarks during visits to various churches in the municipality. The visits aimed to garner community support for improved sanitation and to educate the public on road traffic regulations and the effects of substance abuse. He expressed concern over the continued littering despite the availability of dustbins at strategic locations, highlighting the need for intensified efforts to curb such behaviors.
Mr. Adomah further mentioned that the Assembly is committed to enhancing its sanitation management to meet the government-set benchmarks. Proper sanitation management, he noted, is a critical performance assessment indicator for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
Pastor Isaac Owusu Boansi, the Assistant Pastor of the Jesus Saviour of the World Church, assured the congregation of the church's dedication to participating in clean-up exercises within the municipality.
