Remembrance Day: VAG Urges Ghanaians to Use Dialogue to Address Conflicts.

Accra: Ex-Warrant Officer Class 1, Bright Segbefia, Public Relations Officer of the Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG), has urged Ghanaians to use dialogue in addressing misunderstandings and not resort to conflicts. He stated that conflicts could hinder a nation's development and disrupt the peace of its citizens, encouraging peaceful coexistence as the December 7 polls approach.According to Ghana News Agency, Ex W.O.1 Segbefia imparted this advice on Monday during the commemoration of Remembrance Day, an annual event held on November 11 to mark the signing of the First World War-ending Armistice in 1918. Originally dedicated to the memory of fallen Commonwealth soldiers of the First World War, the day's significance evolved following the Second World War.Every year, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, millions worldwide pause in silence to remember the sacrifices made for today's freedoms. In honoring these soldiers, Ex W.O.1 Segbefia emphasized the need for improved healthcare for ret ired servicemen.In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he expressed concerns about veterans facing challenges in getting medical bill reimbursements from the Veterans Administration due to financial constraints. He highlighted a recent project to reconstruct the Amasaman Legion Village clinic, completed and set to be commissioned by year-end, noting appreciation for governmental support, including from Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the former Minister of Health.The 37 Military Hospital has also pledged to provide doctors and health personnel to manage the clinic. Ex W.O.1 Segbefia urged the military to remain patriotic, prioritizing national interests and performing duties with a focus on collective national benefit. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing Ghana's progress as a united endeavor.
