Sunyani: The Bono Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) successfully recovered GHC 835,579.69 in revenue for the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) from January to March 2025.According to Ghana News Agency, the 2025 first quarter report released by the Commission highlighted an additional adjustment totaling GHC16,263.74 made for consumers during the same period. The report also noted that the Commission received a total of 263 complaints from service providers and consumers, with a resolution rate of 257 complaints.The report emphasized that NEDCo received the highest number of complaints, totaling 239, which accounted for 90.88 percent of all complaints. Meanwhile, Ghana Water Limited received 23 complaints, and there was only one complaint lodged against a consumer.The report further detailed that during the reviewed period, the office conducted 20 public education programs, allowing them to engage with 2,836 consumers and distribute 795 flyers across the Bono and Ahafo Regions. The Commission's focus on regulatory relevance aimed to promote excellence in regulation and enhance consumer welfare in these regions.Throughout the quarter, the office implemented proactive and strategic measures that led to significant progress in regulatory oversight, consumer protection, and the overall provision of utility services in the regions.
