President Mahama Nominates 13 for Deputy Ministerial Positions


Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the names of 13 Deputy Ministerial Nominees to Parliament for vetting and approval.



According to Ghana News Agency, Acting Spokesperson to the President, the nominations were submitted in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the Constitution for prior approval. These nominations were conveyed through the Speaker on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.



The nominees for the various ministries include Thomas Nyarko Ampem for the Ministry of Finance, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi for the Ministry of the Interior, and Ernest Brogya Gyenfi for the Ministry of Defence. Clement Abas Apaak has been nominated for the Ministry of Education, while Richard Gyan-Mensah is the choice for the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.



For the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has been nominated, with Justice Srem-Sai for the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General. Yusif Sulemana is nominated for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, and Rita Naa Odoley Sowah for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.



Gizella Tettey-Agbotui has been selected for the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Yussif Issaka Jajah for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, John Kofi Setor Dumelo for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and Samson Ahi for the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry.



Additionally, President Mahama has nominated Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba as Minister of State, Public Sector Reforms.
