The Ashanti Regional Police Command had gathered intelligence on Abdul Sadik (Cross), who was wanted in connection with numerous robberies and killings in Mankraso and its surrounding areas. Police identified three hideouts in Offinso where Sadik and his gang were believed to be staying.

An intelligence-led operation involving three officers and additional ranks was conducted to raid the identified locations. At Offinso Ayankaso, Sadik reportedly fired shots from his room and attempted to escape through the ceiling. The police responded with tactical fire, resulting in gunshot wounds to the suspects.

The operation led to the retrieval of a pump action gun with six rounds of ammunition, a Blacksmith and Wesson pistol, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an unmarked pistol, and two spent cartridges. Further investigation in the room uncovered three smart mobile phones, two keypad phones, mobile phone accessories, an apple laptop, a machete, a sock, an ash singlet with talisman, black body armour, two long boots, a picture frame of the gang, a Ghana Card with Sadik's image and the name Osman Majid, and cash totaling GHC2,680.

During interrogation, the suspects identified themselves as Abdul Sadik and Abdulai Saik. Abdul Sadik confessed to committing several robberies in the Mankraso area and admitted to killing three people. He also named accomplices known as Kingkong, Roy, Fii, Raph, Koboo, Ali, and Ike.

Abdul Sadik further revealed that some of the firearms were in the possession of Kingkong, Koboo, and Ali at mining sites in Manso. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend these accomplices and retrieve the remaining weapons.
