Tunis: The Free Destourian Party (PDL) is committed to its presidential candidate, Abir Moussi, who is currently in detention, said party political bureau member Karim Krifa.Speaking at a press conference organised by the PDL at its headquarters on Thursday, Krifa stated that 'we are going to submit the PDL president's candidacy application, even if it is likely to be rejected because of the legal proxy.'The party has no other candidates, Krifa added, pointing out that its supporters will not take part in any electoral campaign for another candidate in the October 6 presidential election.Member of the defence team Naoufel Bouden underlined for his part, that 'the judicial parties to whom the defence has turned have implicitly refused to deal with the request for authorisation to obtain a legal power of attorney allowing the PDL President to obtain a model of sponsorships to present her candidacy for the presidential elections.'At the beginning of February, a committal order was issued against Abir Mou ssi under Article 24 of Legislative Decree No. 54, in a case brought against her by the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE).Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
