Pastors Urged to Champion Good Sanitation Practices in Local Communities

Twifo praso: Nana Gyamera Akoto II, the Ankobeahen of Twifo Traditional Area, has called upon pastors to leverage their positions of influence by promoting good sanitation practices from their pulpits. He encouraged spiritual leaders to motivate their congregations to actively engage in the National Sanitation Day exercise.

According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Akoto expressed concerns about the lackluster participation of church members in local clean-up initiatives. He lamented that many individuals across the country appear disinterested in such activities, despite the potential positive impact on their communities. Nana Akoto highlighted the significance of biblical teachings in advocating for cleanliness, urging pastors to inspire their followers to take part in upcoming sanitation exercises.

The Assembly Members from the Twifo Ntafrawaso and Eduabeng Konyanko Electoral areas, who were involved in the last National Sanitation Day, have called on local councils and the government for support in overcoming obstacles that hinder participation. Messrs Richard Arthur and Latif Adei pointed out the lack of essential tools and provision of food for workers as significant challenges during these community initiatives. They appealed for better collaboration between local government officials and Assembly Members to enhance the effectiveness of clean-up events.

Mr Isaac Yawson, the District Chief Executive for Twifo Atti Morkwa, emphasized the need for government appointees to diligently perform their duties. He urged them to support the successful implementation of President John Mahama's campaign promises in the region, thereby contributing to a clean and healthy environment for the community.
