Parents Must Avoid the Habit of Abandoning Children, Urges Apostle Dr Agbalenyo.

Otiakrom-Shallom: Apostle Dr Kadmiel E.H. Agbalenyo, the Founder and Leader of the Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation, has urged parents to avoid the habit of abandoning their children, which he said was a curse. He appealed to his fellow church leaders to pray fervently against such a habit for everlasting harmony and peace among parents and children at home.According to Ghana News Agency, Apostle Dr Agbalenyo gave the advice when he spoke with the agency after delivering a sermon on parental rights and responsibilities at home, at Otiakrom-Shallom in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region. He noted that fathers were often the main offenders of abandoning their homes, leaving wives to bear the responsibilities of raising children. He emphasized that only a treacherous spouse would abandon the children they have brought into the world, stating there is no concept of 'single parenthood' except for widowhood, which is recognized by God.Apostle Dr Agbalenyo warned that neglecting parental re sponsibilities is subject to divine punishment, asserting that parents who abandon their children lack knowledge of God. He highlighted the importance of children to families, noting that they bring strength and protection when raised with religious, cultural, and skillful training. He lamented that some people see children as burdens and maltreat them, which can lead to introducing them to unlawful behaviors. He advised parents to involve their children in home activities such as homework, cleaning, and dressmaking for girls, while boys should be introduced to tasks related to their father's work like gardening, carpentry, and masonry.Apostle Dr Agbalenyo stated that such involvement would build an industrial foundation for the children alongside their academic pursuits, referencing the biblical story of Noah's Ark as an example of family cooperation. He concluded by asserting that children trained in religious, domestic, and industrial skills are essential for family welfare and nation-building.
