Asokwa: Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa, has described the ongoing special voting exercise in the constituency as 'very impressive' and expressed optimism that this would translate into the upcoming actual elections on Saturday. Speaking to journalists after observing the voting exercise at the Asokwa Divisional Police Command, she noted that the proceedings were smooth and orderly.According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Appiagyei emphasized that the performance of the government in all sectors positioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) favorably to win the elections. She urged the residents of Asokwa to continue supporting the NPP to ensure the continuation of social intervention programs currently underway across the country.Mr. Joseph Obeng Dwamena, the Presiding Officer at the voting center, reported that voting commenced at 7 am, and by 11 am, 105 out of the total 415 registered voters had already cast their votes.In addition, Nana Augustus Kwasi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), also visited the center. He expressed satisfaction with the voting proceedings and remarked that if the current process persisted, it would lead to free and fair elections in the upcoming main elections.
