The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ghana on Thursday, October 10, re-elected Mr. Samson Deen as President for another four-year term.The Elective General Assembly, which was held at the Accra Digital Centre, saw the seating President going unopposed and was declared the winner by Mrs Abigail D. A. Nutakor from the Electoral Commission.Other members of the newly elected NPC-Ghana were Mr Yeboah Evans as Vice President, Mr Henry Larbi - General Secretary, Mr Richard Teinor as treasurer, Madam Farida Ayishetu Iddriss, Mr Foster Kwarteng, Madam Mary Apedo, and Mr Anthony Gyening - Executive Members.President Deen expressed his profound gratitude to the delegates and the entire Para family for their confidence and belief in him.He said effective and efficient leadership was key to the development and promotion of the sport.Mr. Evans Opoku Bobie, the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, congratulated the new leaders and urged them to work together for the development of para-sports in Ghana.He said, 'I acknowledged that the Minister for Youth and Sports is fully aware of the recent happens including various agitations and court actions that have characterized the para-sports ecosystem in the country.'It is the wish of the Ministry that the new leadership would work to resolve all outstanding issues and to unite all the rank and file of the para community towards a common goal.'And to ensure that persons with disabilities participate in the equal base of sporting activities in the country.'He said the government was committed to providing all infrastructure and facilities to create an enabling environment for all federations, athletes, and coaches to excel in national and international competitions.Source: Ghana News Agency
