Yeji: The Former President John Dramani Mahama, who is the 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has affirmed the party's commitment to ensuring the integrity of the upcoming General Elections. He emphasized the importance of vigilance among the party's polling agents and encouraged voters to participate in the election process by returning to the polling stations after voting to observe the counting.According to Ghana News Agency, Mahama made these remarks during a durbar at the Kajogyi Yam festival, celebrated by the chiefs and people of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region. He urged all citizens to act as polling agents themselves and advised them to take photographs of the election results as announced by the Electoral Commission at the polling stations to ensure transparency.Pimampim Yaw Kabrese V, the Paramount Chief of the Yeji Traditional Area, also addressed the gathering, urging political parties to prioritize maintaining peace and to avoid actions that coul d lead to political violence. He highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections in the nation's political history and appealed to stakeholders to ensure the elections are free, fair, and credible. Additionally, Pimampim Kabrese V cautioned political figures against making provocative statements.
