NDC Chairman Urges Ashanti Region Voters to Prioritize Development Over Party Loyalty.

Afrancho: Voters in the Ashanti Region have been advised to prioritize the development of the region over their loyalty to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as Ghanaians head to the polls next month. Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), believes the level of development in the region under the NPP does not commensurate with the massive support and loyalty they have shown the party over the years.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Nketiah addressed the people of Afrancho near Akomadan in the Offinso North District, urging them to reconsider their steadfast loyalty to the NPP. He emphasized that elections are meant to bring development to citizens, and voters should support parties that prioritize the well-being of the people. Mr. Nketiah pointed out that many development projects in the Ashanti Region have been executed by the NDC, yet the region continues to support the NPP.The NDC National Chairman criticized the ruling party for taking the region's loyalty for granted, asserting that the NPP believes the Ashanti Region is secured regardless of their performance. He encouraged the electorate to demand significant projects that would impact the entire population and resist the monetary incentives often used by political parties during elections. Mr. Nketiah argued that these financial inducements are minimal compared to what has been misspent instead of developing local communities.Despite the NDC's secondary position in the region, Mr. Nketiah highlighted the transformative projects they have undertaken, offering voters a chance to restore leadership that prioritizes development. He called for the region to oust the NPP to ensure they are taken seriously after years of neglect. His campaign tour in the region included visits to eight communities across four constituencies, namely Offinso North, Offinso South, Afigya Kwabre North, and Afigya Kwabre South.
