Abetifi: The Kwahu East District office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized a Parliamentary Candidate Dialogue with Mr. Isaac Amoafo Addo, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Abetifi Constituency. The dialogue was intended to provide a platform for the candidate to present his vision for the constituency, focusing on youth engagement, non-violence, issue-based campaigning, and fostering peace and tolerance before, during, and after the upcoming elections on December 7th.According to Ghana News Agency, the event was led by Ms. Roberta Essilfuah Koah, the Kwahu East District Director of NCCE. It aimed to reinforce the NCCE's commitment to promoting peaceful and informed civic engagement as the 2024 general elections approach. Despite the absence of the incumbent Member of Parliament for the NPP, Mr. Bryan Acheampong, who also serves as the Agriculture Minister, the dialogue proceeded with active participation from various stakeholders.Mr. Addo emphasized his dedication to peace, urging his supporters to refrain from violence and to participate actively in the electoral process by casting their votes. He made it clear that his words should not be misconstrued as a call to incite conflict within the constituency. The event gathered a diverse group of participants, including traditional authorities, security personnel, students, community members, and representatives from the Kwahu East District Assembly, as well as delegations from the NCCE's Head Office and the Kwahu South office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).The dialogue also featured questions based on the NCCE's 2024 Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter study. These questions addressed pressing issues such as education, employment, health, roads, infrastructure, the economy, and agriculture, providing a comprehensive overview of the concerns of the electorate.
