Accra: The National Theatre of Ghana, in a collaborative effort with its three resident groups, is set to captivate audiences with an exciting line-up of events this December. The much-anticipated 'December in Ghana' calendar for 2024 promises a vibrant array of performances, scheduled from December 12th through December 21st, 2024.According to Ghana News Agency, the programme will encompass a diverse mix of Ghanaian traditional and contemporary dances, as well as live musical and stage drama presentations. The overarching aim of the 2024 December in Ghana event, as stated by the organizers, is to raise awareness about Ghanaian art and cultural values, fostering a sense of pride and respect for the nation's heritage.A release detailing the events emphasized that the initiative not only seeks to entertain but also to engage both local and international cultural enthusiasts, offering them an opportunity to delve into Ghana's unique culture, art, and entertainment scene. Among the scheduled activities is the Highlife Jam by the National Symphony Orchestra on December 12th, immediately followed by a contemporary dance performance by the National Dance Company themed 'Esoyor' on December 13th.Highlighting the theatrical offerings, the National Drama Company is set to present 'Bride of the Gods' on December 14th. The National Dance Company will return with another dance drama titled 'King's Dilemma,' which promises to be a humorous piece. The event series will conclude with 'The Song of Umbele,' presented by the National Drama Company on December 21st.All performances are slated to take place at the National Theatre Exhibition Hall and the Mini-amphi Theatre (Folk's Place), starting at 6 PM each day, ensuring a captivating evening for all attendees.
