Kumasi: MTN Ghana has donated assorted drinks, food items, and a ram worth GHC 10,000.00 to the Ashanti Regional Imam as Muslims approach the end of the annual Ramadan fasting. Additionally, the company contributed GHC 10,000.00 in cash.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donated items included soft drinks, cooking oil, bottled water, and bags of rice. MTN Ghana has a tradition of supporting the Muslim community during Eid-ul-Fitr, a feast marking the completion of Ramadan fasting.

This year's donation was simultaneously made to the National Chief Imam and Regional Chief Imams in the Ashanti, Western, and Northern Regions. In the Ashanti Region, the donation ceremony took place at the forecourt of the Central Mosque, where officials from MTN handed over the items to Sheikh Abdul Rahman Zakaria Al Shoukry, Executive Secretary to the Regional Chief Imam.

Mr. Simon Amoh, Senior Manager of General Trade, MTN Northern Ghana, who presented the items, highlighted the enduring relationship between MTN and the Muslim community in Ghana. He noted that MTN, as an African company, identifies with every belief and views the donation as an annual ritual to support Muslims during Ramadan.

Mr. Amoh expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the Muslim community towards MTN's business and assured that MTN would provide customer service during the final prayers of the celebration. He also conveyed MTN Ghana's condolences to the Muslim community in the Ashanti Region for the passing of the late Regional Chief Imam last year.

Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, Executive Secretary to the Regional Chief Imam, received the items on behalf of the Muslim community, expressing appreciation for MTN's consistent support during the fasting period.
